Happy Summer Solstice
Here is my "nickel quilt" in progress, started in Pat Speth's class 0n May 29, 2009.
I changed her "Texas Two Step" pattern by changing the half-square triangles in the shoo-fly blocks to four-patches. I'll call it "Summer Solstice Dance"; it is almost finished at the summer solstice- my goal is to have the top done for show-and-tell at this Wednesday's guild meeting.
T and I went to our church picnic today at a member's property in the country- she has beautiful English perennial beds. It was HOT and humid, -the Solstice was celebrated by eating potluck, touring their place and sitting and talking- thunder was rumbling so we didn't do our drumming and ritual.

Bekah's Wedding
Speaking of weddings, I haven't yet blogged our family wedding which was on April 18. Bekah and Casey got married at St. James church, very beautiful with fabulous stained glass windows of the Beatitudes. Terry happily walked her down the aisle. The reception was at Hickory Point clubhouse. My family was represented by Dad and Carol, my brother Ed and Vicki, and Jenny & Rex with Mark.
Here are pictures from my camera, we are still waiting for the official wedding pictures.
A Wedding at Allerton
Terry was asked by Erica to play his singing bowls and native American flute at her "fairy tale" wedding. It was held in the sunken garden at Allerton Park; and also featured fairies, her dog as ring bearer, dancers, Scottish sword ceremony, the groom and bagpiper in kilts!, butterflies, and African drummers. It was very hot, but a lovely sunny day and a beautiful and unique wedding. The reception was in Decatur by the lake, and very nicely decorated. A fun day!
It's also my Cody's 13th birthday!
