Paul McCartney and Stephen Colbert

Went to Paper Warehouse to buy a card for my dear son's 37th (yikes!) birthday tomorrow. While there I scored this 2009 Beatles calendar for 70% off. Whoo-hoo!
Earlier this week, Paul McCartney was on The Colbert Report- I don't think Paul was pleased with (or didn't get) Stephen's persona at first, but when Stephen started a duet with him of Paul's songs, he really warmed up and played along. (Or maybe he was just acting perturbed in the beginning.)

47th Yard Bird!

On Tuesday, January 20, 2009 we saw our 47th yard list bird, a brown creeper.

Evening Group Quilt Guild meeting

Monday night's meeting was a party to celebrate the finishing of our Illinois Sampler Quilt. I have all the blocks done and pinned them to the fabric that I'm thinking of using for sashing, and showed it for Show and Tell. Several ladies had their quilts done; it's fun to see how different they are with various fabric choices.
Our speaker was from Main Street Quilt Company of Shelbyville, she made it up before the big snow storm hit.
I bought a delicious 1800's browns and pinks kit.

Bald Eagle on Lake Decatur

On Wednesday, January 21, 2009, I saw a bald eagle fly over the dam as I was waiting at the stop light, my first Decatur sighting! This is a video of a mature and immature bald eagle from You Tube.
